William O. Meyer, Jr.

William O. Meyer, 79, of Aztec, died on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at San Juan Regional Medical Center in Farmington. Bill was born Sept. 24, 1933 in Brooklyn, N.Y. the son of William Otto Meyer Sr. and Jane (McMasters) Meyer.
Bill was a dedicated husband of 51 years to Barbara (Dombeck) Meyer, loving father of three children and proud grandfather.
Bill proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 20 years and retired as Captain. Bill excelled in all aspects of life; father, husband, Marine, supervisor and friend.
He loved sports, especially basketball, computer work and gaming, and spending time with family. His ultimate happiness was in his grandchildren and children and never went anywhere without his loving wife. Bill took great pride in being a U.S. Marine.
He is forever loved and respected and will be missed dearly and life will never be the same without him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William O. Meyer Sr. and Jane Meyer; brother, Wayne Meyer and a granddaughter, Liberty Rose Jan. 7, 2011.
Bill leaves behind his wife, Barbara R. Meyer; sons, Matthew W. Meyer and wife, Moree and Kevin D. Meyer and wife, Lori; daughter, Diane M. Meyer; four grandchildren, Laney and Griffin, Garett and Wesley and many dear friends.
Rosary will be recited 1:30 p.m. on Monday, May 27, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 42 Road 3520 in Flora Vista, with the Legion of Mary reciting.
Mass of Christian Burial will follow 2 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, with Rev. Kingsley George-Obilonu as celebrant.
Bill will be laid to rest at a later date at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo. with full military honors.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all relatives and friends who were so kind and supportive during this time. Your kindness will always be remembered.
