After a courageous 2 1/2 year battle with cancer, Belinda Ann Werito, 51, of Farmington, gained her victory by entering through the Gates of Glory on Saturday, March 31, 2012, in Farmington. She was born Jan. 26, 1961, in Otis, to Bobby and Rita Werito.
Belinda received her education from Navajo United Methodist Mission School. She graduated with the Class of 1980.
During her working career, she was employed by Sam's Club, Kentucky Fried Chicken and Navajo Academy.
She was a member of World Harvest Center Church in Farmington.
She had a happy, sociable, fun-loving personality. She was a considerate mom, sister, aunt, daughter and friend. She loved cats.
Her interests included walking and jogging in Berg Park, attending Christian concerts and watching high school girls' basketball games. She was an avid Los Angeles Lakers fan.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Nellie Yazzie and Jim and Louise Werito.
Belinda is survived by her son, Luke D. Paul; parents, Bobby and Rita Werito; brothers, Walter and Clifford Werito; and sisters, Barbara Whiston and Bita Roanhorse.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at World Harvest Center, 1024 N. Butler Ave. in Farmington.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, April 6, at World Harvest Center, with the Rev. Christie DeWees officiating.
A reception at World Harvest Center will follow the memorial service.
