Chereen Polson Fritz has gone home to God 12 days prior to her 76th birthday. Goodbyes were said to her husband, Al of 42 years, and daughters, Dessa O'Donnell of Clovis, Calif., Brigitte Crabtree of Houston, Texas, Dr. Rose Cofer and Cynthia Petty of San Antonio, Texas.
Chereen's suffering from months of illness and pain are over, and she is at peace with God. Chereen earned her private pilot's license in the 1970s, and it was fitting that her coming home from UNM Hospital was in a Learjet.
Plans for a memorial service are pending for sometime in June.
The family wishes to thank the family doctors and caregivers and the medical teams at San Juan Regional and New Mexico University Hospitals for all their efforts to find a cure and relief for her. Thanks also to the flight team and nurses that helped her with her last wish of being home in Aztec for final goodbyes.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to either the First Methodist Church of Bloomfield for their Food Pantry or Monday Free Lunch Program or to San Juan Masonic Lodge #25's Dyslexia Clinic in Aztec.
To all who have said many prayers for Chereen and our family, thank you!
