George Daniel Wallace

George left this life fighting hard the battle of cancer. He Left peacefully from home on his eternal hunting trip on July 24, 2012. He was born in Faribault, Minn., to Don and Rosie Wallace, October 18, 1949.
He moved to this area in 1978.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Don Wallace and great-granddaughter, Taegen McKinney.
George is survived by his wife, Sandra, of 28 years; his sons, Lloyd (Elizabeth) Wallace, Jason (Tammy) Thompson, of Aztec, Jeff (Cheryl) Thompson, of Dallas, Texas; his daughters, Jan Hockenhull (Vic Neuenschwander), of Aztec and Lynn Thompson, of Dallas, Texas; his brother, Lee (Rita) Wallace; sister, Judy (Leo) Gard, of Minn.; 19 grandkids; 25 great-grandkids; several nieces; nephews and cousins.
Papa was an honest hard working man. He drove a truck in the oilfield for many years. He set a good example and taught many to drive and had good ethics.
He lived to hunt bear, mountain lion, and duck and he enjoyed fishing. If it was snowing you can bet Papa and his dogs were out hunting even before going to work. He loved sharing his skill with young hunters.
At request cremation has taken place.
George also requested a memorial BBQ gathering of family and friends. It will be carried out as he planned 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 4, at 4 Road 2892, in Aztec, at the river of the family home. Come and share your stories and memories.
Pallbearers are Butch Matthews, Bill Ritchey, Ralph Abeyta, Donnie Kennom, Cody McKinney Tracy Johnson, Wally Chamblee and Lee Wallace.
Honorary pallbearers are his kids, grandkids and great-grandkids, M & R Trucking Co. employees, hunting buddies and fishing friends.
