R J Henderson of Bloomfield, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was born, Oct. 14, 1925, in Wellington, Texas, to Roy Jay and Mattie Aline Henderson.
R J worked in the oilfield for Halliburton Services until he retired. He was best known for his fine thoroughbred and quarter horses and Brangus cattle.
R J was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Opal F. (Hooten) Henderson; son, Rex Henderson of Bloomfield; daughter, Linda Kaywood of Bloomfield; brother, Jack (Lavonne) Henderson of Muleshoe, Texas; sister, Ethyl Murray of Muleshoe, Texas; one granddaughter; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. for Friday March 7, at Cope Memorial Chapel in Farmington.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, at the Desert Hope Primitive Baptist Church, 604 Island St. in Bloomfield. Elders Larry W. Guffey and Cleveland Bass will be officiating.
