Richard Neese Striplin, 67, of Farmington, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, in Farmington. He was born March 19, 1946, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Rubey Edna Wood and Joseph Edward Striplin.
Richard moved to Farmington in his early years and was raised by his grandparents, Hap and Rubey Wood, along with his other 12 aunts and uncles.
Richard had one brother and one sister, who were also raised by their grandparents. On Feb. 2, 1974, he married the girl next door, who used to throw rocks at him, Barbara Lou Murray. Richard took over the dad roll of her son, Scott, and they had one daughter together. They were married 30 years when she passed away.
Richard was loved by everyone due to his sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lou Striplin; brother, Art Striplin; and his grandparents, Hap and Rubey Wood.
Richard is survived by his son, Richard Scott Livingston; daughter, Latisha Neese Furtado; sister, Julianne Overturf; and grandchildren, Brandon Livingston, Naomi Livingston and Taylor Henson.
A graveside memorial service will be 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 15, in Memory Gardens, 6917 E. Main St. in Farmington.
