Roy W. Andrews Jr., of Fruitland, passed away while surrounded by his family, after a hard fought battle with lung disease, on Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, in Farmington. He was born Feb. 23, 1939, in Cripple Creek, Colo., to Roy and Mildred Andrews. He was the youngest of five children.
Roy met Connie Ontis in 1959 in Grants, and they were married the following year. After working as a heavy equipment operator for 40 plus years, he retired in 2001 to enjoy camping, fishing and traveling until his illness would no longer permit. Roy was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Juanita and Merriam.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years; son, Frank (Renee); grandsons, Stanley and Cody; daughter, Karen; sisters, Corrine and Elizabeth; numerous nieces and nephews; and his four-legged girls, Roxy and Gretta.
