Shirley Ann Hammonds

Shirley Ann Hammonds, 72, of Farmington, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at San Juan Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 31, 1939 in Childress, Texas the daughter of Luke and Edith Rosetta (Golden) Sims.
When Shirley was small she used to slide down the fire pole at the local fire station. Shirley attended and later graduated from high school in Morton, Texas where she was a member of the FFA and played in the band and became a drum majorette. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Farmington. Shirley loved the Dallas Cowboys and was one of their biggest fans. She also loved and worshiped Elvis Presley and even met him a couple of times.
She'll be remembered for her good cooking and especially her southern fried chicken. Shirley enjoyed watching old westerns on television. She'll loved animals and especially Charlotte's dog ""Blue.""
Shirley adored her family and especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Shirley leaves behind her husband, Teddy Hammonds; son, Ted Hammonds and wife, Kelly, of Monte Vista, Colo.; daughters, Terrye Hammonds and Diann Hammonds; brother, Ronald Dean Golden, of Monte Vista, Colo.; three grandchildren, Zachary and Raela Hammonds and Charlotte Robertson; two great-grandchildren, Jaden Crispin and Kali Bass and many friends.
Cremation will take place.
Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. on Monday, April 1, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 414 N. Allen Ave. in Farmington, with Father Timothy Farrell reciting.
A mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Farmington, with Father Tim Farrell as celebrant.
Shirley's care is entrusted to Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home, 103 E. Ute St. in Farmington, 505-325-8688.
