Harold "Sunshine" Smith Jr., 24, of Red Valley, Ariz., passed from this life Thursday, July 24, 2014, in Farmington. He was born Nov. 24, 1989, in Shiprock, to Harold and Katherine Smith. He loved his family and adored his daughter, Hailey Mary-Kay Smith.
Harold is survived by his girlfriend, Crystal Cohoe; his daughter, Hailey; parents, Harold and Katherine Smith; grandparents, Joe Lee and Cora Nakai and Ida and Willie Young; brother, Stewart H. John; sisters, Dorothea K. Pedroza, Heather K. Smith; step-sisters, Carol Begay and Charlotte Smith; niece, Yesenia Pedroza and Ava John; many extended family, nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts and friends; mother-in-law Mary Joe and sister-in-laws, Cindy (Leottis) Begaye, Miranda (Brandon) Davis and Darlene (Darrell) Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Mary K. Redhouse and Kinlicheeni Nez.
He was employed with FedEx Ground, Lubricator, Finch Lube and Car Care and his last employment was with NAPI for two years. He attended school at Red Rock Day School, Wildcats (K-8th grade), Shiprock High School, Chieftains (9th – 12th grade). He loved to play all sports and watched ESPN.
We will greatly miss our beloved son, companion, father, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew and friend
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 31, at Desert View Funeral Home Chapel in Shiprock. Interment to follow at Red Valley Community Cemetery in Red Valley, Ariz. Harold is in the care of Desert View Funeral Home, North U.S. Highway 491, in Shiprock, 505-368-4607.
