Crystal Shannon Marquez, 35, of Bloomfield, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014. She was born Oct. 30, 1978, in Farmington. Crystal graduated from Bloomfield High school in 1997 and took classes at San Juan College. She was a very talented artist and enjoyed jewelry making and scrapbooking. With her unfortunate sudden departure from this life, many have questions of why things happen the way they do. One thing is for certain: Crystal often expressed her deep love, compassion and selflessness and will be missed dearly.
She was a beloved mother of Joseph Gonzalez and Godmother to John Paul Jr. and Mack Marquez; a loving daughter to Leo and Monica Marquez and Denny and Lori Williams; and loving granddaughter to Marvin and Charlene Mosley and Gloria Marquez. She is survived by brothers, John Marquez, Alex Carnell, Bandy Marquez, Nathan Marquez, Denny Williams Jr. and Casey Williams; sisters, Suzanna Marquez, Leanna Martinez, Gloria Marquez and Alyssa Ninos; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 307 N. Church St. in Bloomfield.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Aug. 14, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Bloomfield. Celebrant is Father Bob Mathieu. Immediately following the Mass, she will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Bloomfield.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Citizens Bank in Bloomfield for her son Joseph Gonzalez. Crystal's care is entrusted to Cope Memorial Chapel, 404 W.
