John "Papa" Jeremiah Rogers, 61, of Bloomfield, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014. He was born Feb. 17, 1953, to Harry and Letia Rogers in Cortez, Colo. John graduated from high school in Dove Creek, Colo., and went to college in Denver, Colo. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Diesel Mechanics and Engineering at Votech. John owned and operated 2Jz Company. He loved working and being outdoors and especially loved to spend time in his backyard. From a young age, his favorite hobby was collecting trains. John was a God-fearing, family man. He had a kind heart and willingly donated to those in need. John was a wise man and was a source of strength to his family. He dearly loved his family and friends and was dearly loved in return. He will be greatly missed.
John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Billie Rogers; son Johnathan J. Rogers; daughters, Becky Medina, Crystal Brooks and Dana Davila; brothers, Abe Rogers, Ziska Rogers, and Judd Rogers; sisters, Esther Scaman, Anita, and Juddy Mae; and 18 grandchildren.
A viewing will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 4, at the family home, 414 Ruth Lane, in Bloomfield. A memorial service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 6, also at the family home. Pallbearers are JW Scaman, Jonathan Rogers, Jeromy Medina, Shawn Brooks, Nick Medina, Jonas Medina, Demetrio Brooks and Israel R. Davila.
