Ruben Christopher Gomez
July 13, 1987 - Sept. 16, 2011
Ruben Christopher Gomez, 24, of Blanco, left this life to go home with his Father in Heaven, on Friday, Sept. 16, 2011.
For five years he was a truck driver, working to provide for his children, most recently as a driver for Western Refining.
Loving and making memories for his children were his only goals in life. He enjoyed computer Web design, taking his children four-wheeling in his Jeep, hiking and many other outdoor activities.
He was quiet and reserved to the outside world, but the few he allowed into his life will never forget him.
He will lay heavy in our hearts and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Mike Garcia; paternal grandmother, Agnes Gomez; great-great-grandparents, Audoro and Dulcinea Manzanarez; Joe and Dolores Valencia and Maria and Adelaido Ramirez.
He is survived by his beloved children, his Prince Oscar and his Queen Olivia; the mother of his children, Jessica; his parents, Michelle and Victor Naranjo, his father, Duff Gomez; his loving brother, Jake, and wife, Barbara Gomez; grandparents, Ernest Valencia, Rafelita Valencia and Val (Alice) Gomez; maternal aunts and uncles, Tina (Ricky) Arrighetti, Steve (Karen) Valencia, Dolores (Matthew) Macedo, Becky (Dan) Eggleston and Julie (Brian) Wortman; paternal aunts, Nancy, Mary and Valerie Gomez; and numerous cousins.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, off U.S. Hwy. 64 in Blanco.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Father Bob Mathieu will be the celebrant, assisted by Deacon Pat Valdez.
