Tony Schmitz, 76, of Lindrith, passed away on Monday, April 29, 2013 in Lindrith. He was born Jan. 13, 1937 in Ojito, to Antone and Ruhey Welch Schmitz.
Tony was a lifelong rancher in Ojito. He was a Deacon at the Lindrith Baptist Church. Tony was a visionary business man in the oil field and ranching industry. He lived by honoring his word and lead by example. He'll be greatly missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Darlene, sons, Tony Lee Schmitz (Kimberlee) and Craig D. (Tisha) and a sister, Mary Mead (Jim) of Durango, Colo. Also surviving are five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A family gathering with closed casket will be 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, at Brewer, Lee and Larkin Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 2, at Lindrith Baptist Church with Pastor Chuck Self officiating.
Interment will be in Ojito Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Tony A. Schmitz, Stetson Schmitz, Steve Stevenson, Doyle Post, Dudley Welch and Wendell Tixier.
Honorary Pallbearers are Windy Stevenson, Frank Welch, Jack Bechdol, Wade Schmitz, Harley Leeson, Cliff Price, Bill Humphries and Vicente Enriquez.
