Blanche Mercer Obituary

Blanche Warren Mercer, 86, of 42 Timmerman Drive, Elizabeth City, NC died Monday, October 20, 2014 at W.R. Winslow Memorial Home. Mrs. Mercer was a native of Weldon, NC, the daughter of Fenner A. and Mary W. Warren. Mrs. Mercer is survived by two sons, Charles Meads and wife, Betsy and Jeff Meads and wife Kim, both of Elizabeth City and a sister Louise W. Staples of Shawboro. Mrs. Mercer is also survived by seven grandchildren, Charles R. Meads and wife, Lori, Michele Byrum and husband, Ray, Carla Caddy and husband, Jeff, Matthew Meads, Adam Meads, Erica Meads and John Meads and two great grandchildren, Jacob Meads and Carlie Rae Byrum. Mrs. Mercer was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Meads and two sisters, Lois Brinson and Terry Ann Jackson. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Blackwell Memorial Baptist Church with Rev. Don Carter officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday night, October 25, 2014 from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the home of her son, Charles Meads, 2008 Johnson Road, Elizabeth City, NC. Twiford Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 405 E. Church Street, Elizabeth City is assisting the Mercer family. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.twifordfh.com.
