Gladys Turner Perry, 97, of 158 Lovers Lane, Elizabeth City, died at W.R. Winslow Memorial Nursing Home, Elizabeth City, Sunday, June 9, 2013.
Funeral services will be held at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, Thursday June 13, 2013 at noon with Rev. George Liverman officiating. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Elizabeth City. Viewing will be held today from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the church. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased.
Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home, Gatesville, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Perry was the daughter of the late John Wesley Turner and the late Queenie Turner and was the widow of the late George Washington Perry.
Survivors include one daughter, Georgia Perry of Elizabeth City; four sisters, Rebecca Stitch, Alverta McPherson and Virgie Eason, all of Chesapeake, Va. and Shirley Richardson of Germantown, Pa.; two brothers, Isaac Turner (Yvonne) of Elizabeth City and Roosevelt Turner (Bertha) of Atlanta, Ga.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.
