Lillian Ashley Jackson, 79, of Edenton House, Edenton, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2011, at Pitt County Hospital, Greenville.
She was born in Chowan County, a daughter of the late Johnnie Earl Ashley and Mary White Ashley and the wife of the late Lester Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson was employed by George C Moore, and later by Countryside Daycare. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by a son, Michael Jackson and his wife, Sarah, of Edenton; and a daughter, Cynthia Spruill and her husband, Wayne, of Edenton; one sister, Patricia Timberlake and her husband, J.P., of Edenton; two brothers, Marvin Ashley and his wife, Gloria, of Edenton, and Wayne Ashley and his wife, Jean, of Hertford; four grandchildren, Mia Noble and her husband, Scott, Chris Jackson and friend, Jessica, Bryan Toney, Bruce Toney and his wife, Amanda; six great-grandchildren, Kristia Noble, Taylor Noble, Andrew Mauser, Steven Toney, Kaelyn Jackson and Emma Toney. Mrs. Jackson was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Bunch.
A Celebration of Mrs. Jackson's life will be at 2 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, at Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Young officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held today, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Cynthia Spruill, 637 Chambers Ferry Road.
