Melton Lee "Bonnie" Griffin, 67, of 120 Whitehurst St. died Thursday at Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville.
Funeral services will be held at St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church, Wednesday at 1 p.m. with Minister Dr. Ricky Banks. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m.
Stallings Funeral Home, Elizabeth City is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Melton was a devoted father, grandfather. brother and uncle. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, farming and spending time with his family.
Mr. Griffin was the son of the late Willoughby Griffin and Emma Eason Griffin and the companion of Doris White. He was preceded in death by Lida Mae Griffin Crutch and Essie Mae Griffin.
Survivors include one daughter, Charlene A. White of the home; two step sons, Prince White and Keith White both of Elizabeth City; three sisters, Mildred G. Griffin, Mary Emma Griffin Gibbs, Shirley Griffin Williams all of Elizabeth City and two brothers, Willie Griffin Jr. and Ernest Griffin of Elizabeth City, 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grand children. He raised as his very own Ashley Gregory and Nyreisher White and a hosts of other relatives and friends.
