Elizabeth City resident
Robert Micklewright, 84, of 1146 Weeksville Road, Elizabeth City, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012 at his home. Born in Aikin, Minn., he was the son of the late Thomas and Lily Ladd Micklewright. Mr. Micklewright was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was a retired carpenter. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Micklewright is survived by four daughters, Teresa M. Wagaman of Manchester, Pa., Lillie M. Dunson of Pensacola, Fla., Cathy M. Perry of Hertford and Jenny M. Robertson of Henderson; a son, Robert Lee Micklewright of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Dorothy M. Anderson and Eva M. Adcock, both of Aiken, Minn.; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Micklewright, two grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at Twiford's Memorial Chapel, Church Street, Elizabeth City on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. A private service will also take place at a later date. Twiford Memorial Chapel, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, is assisting the Micklewright family.
