Star'kyra Jayla La'Shae Lister "Star", 14, of 705 Morgan St., Elizabeth City, died at Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters, Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 9:16 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Memorial Missionary Baptist Church, Saturday, May 11, 2013 at noon with Rev. Melvin P. Cooper delivering the Eulogy and Rev. John Figgs officiating. Burial will be in New Oak Grove Cemetery, Elizabeth City. Visitation will be held at Stallings Funeral Home, Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Stallings Funeral Home, Elizabeth City, is in charge of arrangements. Star'Kyra Lister attended Grandy Primary School in Camden and Elizabeth City-Pasquotank County Schools. Star was a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed her R & B & Rap music, car rides and her favorite dog "Benny" that she leaves for Moma Bea to love. She was the daughter of the late Stevie Lamont Lister. She is survived by her mother, Juan Ashaki Simmons; grandmother and grandfather, Beatrice and Bradford Tyler of the home; three sisters, Stareisha Bunch, Shawnaysha Brothers and Shaumia Brothers; one brother, Shawn Brothers Jr.; Godparents, Kim Liverman of Manteo and Michael Banks of Ohio; two aunts, Titaneisha Simmons, Kanita Simmons of Elizabeth City; one great-grandmother, Clara Lee of Camden; one grandmother, Flora Lee Walston of Newport News, Va.; grandfathers, Edward Lee Figgs Sr. of New Jersey, Willie Leon Simmons Jr. of Elizabeth City, Shelton Walston of Newport News, Va.; great-grandfathers, Clinton Lister Jr. and William Cecil Lee. Star leaves a lifetime of memories with her great-aunts, great-uncles and cousins.
