William Rosser Fentress, Jr., 57, of 162 Brumley Road, Knotts Island, died Friday, Sept. 27, 2013 at his home. Born in Norfolk, Va., he was the son of the late William Rosser Fentress, Sr. and Adell Brumley Fentress and was the husband of Jayne Mansfield Fentress. Mr. Fentress worked for the City of Chesapeake as a pump station mechanic. He attended Knotts Island United Methodist Church and was a member of Ducks Unlimited.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Fentress is survived by a daughter, Margie Fentress White and husband, Brian, and their son Brayden of Shawboro; a son, William Rosser Fentress, III and wife, Lorin Gail, and their daughter Madisyn of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Sue F. Austin and husband, Don, of Knotts Island, and Judy Jarman and husband, Ray, of Seaford, Va.
A graveside funeral service will take place Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Knotts Island Cemetery with Pastor Robert Green and Pastor Diana Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Knotts Island United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Memorial donations may be made to Knotts Island United Methodist Church.
