Ann Hillier Obituary
BLUEFIELD - Ann Ray Kramer Hillier of Bluefield, West Virginia died on Monday, March 14, 2016. She was born on October 30, 1922 in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Ann earned her B.S. in Chemistry from Meredith College in 1944 and her M.S. in Nursing from Yale University School of Nursing in 1947. A longtime resident of Bluefield, Ann was a member of Christ Episcopal Church where she served on the Altar Guild and was a member of the
Episcopal Church Women.
She is preceded in death by her parents, D. Ray Kramer and Elizabeth S. Kramer; her sister, Dr. Margaret D. Kramer; her husband, Dr. William F. Hillier, Jr.; and her daughter, Elizabeth Hillier Davis. She is survived by her granddaughter, Dr. Kramer Davis Luxbacher, and husband, Mark George Luxbacher; her grandson, Charles Hillier Davis, and fiance;e, Dr. Erica Ann Wonson; great-grandchildren, William George Luxbacher and Elizabeth Davis Luxbacher; and son-in-law, C. William Davis.
A funeral service is being held on Saturday March 19, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. from Christ Episcopal Church in Bluefield, WV. A graveside service will be Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Old Hollywood Cemetery in Elizabeth City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that gifts be made in Ann's memory to the Christ Episcopal Church Building Endowment Fund or a favorite charity. Twiford Funeral Home, 405 East Church Street, Elizabeth City, NC is assisting the Hillier family. Online condolences may be expressed to the family at www.twifordfh.com.
