Felix Parker Chambers

TYNER - Felix Parker Chambers, 75, of 428 Center Hill Rd. Tyner (Center Hill), NC, passed away at Vidant Medical Center (Pitt Memorial) Hospital Monday August 7, 2017 after a life long battle with Chronic Kidney Disease. He was the son of Henry T and Mary R Chambers of Double Springs, Alabama.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step brothers, Carl Kendrick, Samuel Kendrick and Tom Kendrick; his brother in law James Jordan; and his niece Chanda Chambers.

Felix is survived by his wife of 49 years Frances J. Chambers; his son Thomas David Chambers; his brother George F. Chambers; his nephew Cory B. Chambers; his brother-in-law Keith W. Jordan; his beloved pets, dogs; Beau, Sampson and Delila; cats, Jango, Little Bubba, Tux and Turtey.

Felix (Parkey, Park, Phil, The Cat Man) was a loving husband and father. He was retired form service, United States Coast Guard. After retiring from the service, Felix worked in the car business for George Chevrolet, Ivey's Buick, Cadillac, Pontiac, GMC and Edenton Motors. He was Boy Scout Leader for troop 164 and a member of the Edenton Optimist Club. For many years, he was a volunteer EMT with Chowan County EMS and Gates County EMS. Later became an EMT-I and worked full time for Chowan EMS and Pasquotank-Camden EMS where he retired from in November 2016.

Felix loved his family, friends, pets, cars, driving fast ("It isn't illegal if you don't get caught.") and cooking for anyone that was hungry. All who knew him knows he was legendary for the many practical jokes he pulled and stunts he got away with. No one could ever stay upset with him long after they were a target of one of his pranks because it was Felix. He lived his life his way on his terms no matter what medical obstacle he was faced with. His loss will leave a hole in the heart of everyone who knew him but be comforted by your memories of Felix "The Cat Man" Chambers he will live on through them.
