Marlon Poe Deason, 72, of 1128 South Highway 343, Shiloh, died Friday, April 5, 2013 at his residence. A native of Chilton, Ala., he was the son of the late Van Poe Deason and Irene Blackman Deason, and the husband of Carrie Staples Deason of the residence. He served in the U.S. Air Force and U.S. Coast Guard and retired from the Civil Service and was a member of the See Bees and the sons of confederate Veterans. Besides his wife he is survived by a daughter, Diane Markham; four sons, Carroll Richard Markham, Marty Deason, Joseph Deason, and Marcus Deason; a sister, Celesta Bell; a brother, Kenneth Deason; three grandchildren, Kasey M. Peters, Carolyn Markham Irwin, and Kyle Markham; three great-grandchildren, Amaya Irwin, Olivia Irwin, and Grant Peters; several wonderful nieces and nephews; and a special dog, Trooper. The family and friends will gather at the residence for a time of remembrance from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
