GREENVILLE - Audrey W. Harder, 90, of Greenville, Ohio, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 30, 2012, at 2:30 p.m. at Sterling House of Greenville with her beloved family by her side.
She was born in Redford, Mich., on Feb. 15, 1922, to William M. Wilbur and Amelia (Mangold) Wilbur.
She graduated from Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Mich., and then attended the Detroit Business Institute. She married Elmer "Al" Harder on Oct. 18, 1941 in Detroit, Mich., and they moved to Adrian, Mich., in 1950 where they made their home for many years.
Audrey worked as a secretary at Kerr Dental in Detroit and at Adrian College. Her hobbies were sewing, square dancing, gardening and traveling. She and her husband traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and Canada with the Wally Byam Airstream Club and together they also went to Europe, South Africa, Israel, New Zealand and the Fiji Islands.
Audrey attended the First Assembly of God in Greenville, Ohio. She lived her Christian faith passionately and throughout her life she was always involved with Bible study groups, teaching Sunday school at all levels and giving and sharing generously with others. She remains with us as a wonderful example of the human spirit, blessed with the Holy Spirit and she leaves a legacy of family members and friends who experienced her unconditional love.
Audrey is survived by her children, Karen (Mel) Kerentoff of Sand Creek, Mich.; Judy (Gene) Montgomery of Edwardsburg, Mich.; David (Diane) Harder of Adrian, Mich.; Walter (Karen) Harder of Greenville, Ohio; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her three siblings and her husband in 2005.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Dale Boeger officiating.
The family will receive friends on Saturday from noon to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. It is the wishes of the family that memorial contributions be given to State of the Heart Hospice, Salvation Army or Greenville First Assembly of God. So very sorry for your loss of such a wonderful woman, always with a smile on her face. She was a wonderful neighbor when I lived on Bent Oak andshe will be sadly missed. Prayers go out to the family, Pam Flint Guistino.
