BENANZER, HILDA - Fort Loramie  
FORT LORAMIE — Hilda C. Benanzer, age 87, of Fort Loramie, Ohio, died at 2:12 a.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2015, at her home. She was born on Oct. 1, 1927 in Lima, Ohio, to the late Vincent and Cecilia (McFarland) Guggenbiller. She married Edward B. Benanzer on Oct. 20, 1954, in Sharpsburg, Ohio. He preceded her in death on Nov. 18, 1978. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie, where she was a member of St. Ann's Rosary Altar Sodality, Apostleship of Prayer, a communion distributor, funeral choir member, Eucharistic adoration, helped with May crowning and at server's picnic and a religion teacher for 20 years. She was also a member and current president of the Nam of the North Widow and Widower's, CLC and Knights of St. John Auxiliary. She was a homemaker, housekeeper for St. Michael Rectory and Wilson Memorial Hospital Auxiliary volunteer and holding offices in many organizations. Hilda enjoyed living on the farm watching cattle and crops grow, feeding birds and watching sunrises and sunsets. She enjoyed her family and friends especially spending time with her children and grandchildren and her dog, Bandit. She also enjoyed playing cards, bingo, mushroom hunting and visiting the casinos. She is survived by children: Phyllis and James Lehmkuhl, Fort Loramie, Edward and Karen Benanzer, Fort Loramie, Janice Benanzer, Fort Loramie, William and Lisa Benanzer, Fort Loramie, Jane and Dale DeLoye, Fort Loramie; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters Frances Brockman Limbert, Dayton, Sylvester and Alice Guggenbiller, Fort Recovery; sister-in-law, Corrine Guggenbiller, Union City, Indiana; and caregivers Shelly Basil and Phyllis Seger. She was preceded in death by Clarence and Helen Guggenbiller, Werner Guggenbiller, Helen Guggenbiller, Arnold Brockman, Gertrude and Oscar Shoemaker, Tony and Mary Guggenbiller. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Fort Loramie with Rev. Timothy Bunch, celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Minster from 2 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Thursday. Condolences may be made at www.hogenkampfh.com .

COVINGTON — Jeremiah Lee Bubeck, age 34, of Covington, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at his home. Jeremiah was born on Feb. 26, 1981, in Piqua to Rick L. and Becky S. (Wight) Bubeck; was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 2000; received an associate degree from Northwestern College, Lima, Ohio; worked as an automotive/diesel technician for Buck's Truck Repair, Covington; self-employed; a member of the Covington Eagles Aerie #3998; a member of AMVETS Post #66, Covington; member of Covington VFW Post #4235; lifetime member of the Fish and Game Club, Troy; a member of the Greenville Moose Lodge #329; and was an avid lover of fishing, camping, and hunting. Jeremiah is survived by his parents, Rick and Becky of Covington; sister and brother-in-law, Sommer and John Basye of Covington; nieces and nephews, Owen Landis, Hunter, Tyler, Andrew, and Asa Basye; girlfriend, Tammy Stapleton of Troy; maternal grandparents, Ann and Jerry Wight of Covington, paternal grandfather, Jack Bubeck of Greenville; paternal grandmother, Retha Bubeck of Greenville; and numerous other relatives and friends. VERSAILLES — Fredrick D. "Fred" Condon, age 78, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 8:14 p.m. on Thursday, May 21, 2015, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton. Fred was born Oct. 29, 1936, in West Milton, Ohio to the late Russell E. and Elizabeth (Stocker) Condon. Fred served in the Ohio National Guard. Fred was the former owner of Edwin F. Nickol Monuments Inc. in Versailles. Fred was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown, Versailles Lions Club, Monument Builders of Ohio and the Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2347. Fred is survived by his wife of 58 years, Roberta J. (Barga) Condon, whom he married April 23, 1957; children, Randy and Kim Condon of Versailles, Steve and Peggy Condon of Versailles, Gary and Teresa Condon of Versailles and Jody and Doug Groff of Versailles; grandchildren, Mindy and Kevin Kissinger, Danielle Condon, Kristin Condon, Mackenzie Condon, Cole Condon, Damon Condon, Summer Condon, Cassidy Condon, Brooke Condon, Joshua Condon, Brandon Groff and Chelsea Groff; great-granddaughters, Mallory York and Danica York; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dick and Angie Condon of Russia and Bob and Becky Condon of Versailles; sister and brother-in-law, Marcia and Chuck Meiring of Houston; sister-in-law, Jenny Condon of Versailles; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Fred was also preceded in death by his step-mother, Rita Condon; grandchildren, Douglas Condon and Christopher Condon; brother, James C. Condon; and sister, Maria Condon. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Frenchtown with Rev. Fr. Ron Haft celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery in Versailles. The family will receive friends on Monday from 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 at Bailey Zechar Funeral home in Versailles. GREENVILLE — JoAnn M. Deal, age 79, of Greenville, passed away on May 21, 2015, at Kettering Hospital with her family by her side. She was born March 25, 1936 in Dayton, Ohio. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Beverly Fleming. JoAnn was the president of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary post 284 in Bellview, Florida, for three years. She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Larry Deal; son, Jim (Carol) Dittmar Jr. of Kettering; daughters, Mary Jo (Steve) Frey of Houston, and April (Matt) Grunden of Mendon; grandchildren, Nathan Dittmar, Kyle (Jiah) Grunden, Wes (Megan) Subler, Tyler (Olivia) Subler, Kelli (Jacob) Garrity, Jared Dittmar, and Tessa Subler; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Karen (Jerry) Evans and Kathy Gyenes; and numerous other dear family members and friends. GREENVILLE — Bettie E. Dowler-Harless, 82, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015, at Sterling House of Greenville. She was born May 8, 1933, in Arcanum, Ohio, daughter of the late Joel Wesley and Susie (White) Wogoman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Richard Dowler; brother, Aaron Wogoman Bettie had retired from being a designer for Annie's Attic, in Big Sandy, Texas, and was a caregiver for over 10 years for T & D Home Healthcare. She was a former member of the Eastern Star in New Madison and Ansonia Grange. She is survived by her second husband, Richard Harless; children, Joel (Carolyn)Dowler of New Madison, Terry (Dianna) Dowler of Union City, Indiana, Michael (Juanita) Dowler of Colorado Spring and Cheryl Jean (Van) Dowler of Texas; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Alice Godown and Myrtle Cox. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Angela Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in the East Zion Cemetery. GREENVILLE — Martha E. Gade, 90, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2015, at her residence. She was born Aug. 3, 1924, in Sidney, Ohio, daughter of the late Harley and Estella (Murphy) Wyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Gade; second husband, Roscoe Bowman; grandson, Robbie Gade; brothers, Edward, Ellsworth, Eugene, and Thomas Wyer; and a sister, Geraldine Alice Wilson. Martha was a LPN having owned and operated Gade Nursing Home in Greenville. She was a member of the Trinity Wesleyan Church and had attended St. Paul Lutheran Church both in Greenville. She is survived by her children, Arlynn Mahefkey of Centerville, Ohio, Sharon Haney of Winchester, Indiana, Robin E. Haney of Richmond, Indiana, and Tim (Karen) Gade of Greenville; grandchildren, Susan (Cass) Whitehead-Georgia, Thomas ( Misty ) Mahefkey, Kelly (Shane) Stover, Jenny (Vernon) Redd, Christopher Haney, Jordan Haney, Stephen (Samantha) Gade, Taylor (Will) Muir, Sean Gade, Ryan (Paige) Cox, Kaleen Gade; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery. GETTYSBURG — Matthew Garber, age 47, departed this life at his residence in Gettysburg, Ohio, on Monday, May 25, 2015. Born to Henry and Lois (Bowman) Garber Nov. 30, 1967, in Troy, Ohio. He had been employed for 23 years at Norcold Inc. of Gettysburg, Ohio. Matthew was preceded in death by his mother Oct.30, 2007. Left to mourn is his father, three brothers and two sisters, Michael and Bonnie of Bradford, Stephen and Tammy of Greenville, Seth and Maria of Greenville, Julia of Gettysburg, Jane and Gerald Flora of Greenville. The visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Painter Creek Old German Baptist Brethren meeting house 2996 Schnorf-Jones Road Arcanum, Ohio. Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at the same location with the Home Brethren officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery beside his parents. HARLESS, RICHARD - Greenville  
GREENVILLE — Richard L. Harless, 83, of Greenville, passed away Saturday, May 23, 2015, at Sterling House of Greenville. He was born June 24, 1931, in Greenville, Ohio, the son of the late John and Treva (Hamilton) Harless. Richard was a graduate of Greenville High School. After many years, he retired from both Champaign National Bank and Citizens National Bank. He was a member of the Greenville Methodist Church. Richard was a member of the Harmony Lodge #8 F. and A.M., Urbana Council, Raper Cammandry, the Antioch Shrine and was a 33rd degree mason. He served as the Most Illustrious Grand Master for the Grand Lodge of the State of Ohio in 1980 and served as a member on the board of directors for the Ohio Masonic Home, Springfield and the Browning Masonic Community, Waterville, Ohio. Richard was also a member of the Urbana Rotary Club and served on the Urbana City Council. He is survived by his sons, Mark (Jayne) Harless of Maineville, Ohio, Brent (Joyce) Harless of Lake Zurich, Illinois, and Scott (Kim) Harless of Dublin, Ohio; his grandchildren, Kailey, Matthew, and Chris Harless and Carly Camilleri; his brother, Jack (Carol) Harless of Greenville, Ohio; and his brother-in-law, Harold Stauffer. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Vivian Elaine (Eubank) Harless, and second wife, Bettie (Dowler) Harless; and his sister, Bettie Stauffer. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at Vernon Funeral Home, Urbana. Masonic services will follow at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
