ALBRIGHT, LOIS - Greenville  
GREENVILLE — Lois I. Albright, age 94, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, in the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center Greenville, Ohio. Lois was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Adams County, Ohio, and the daughter of the late Christian Job and Orabelle (Hartman) Albright. She was retired from General Motors of Dayton, Ohio, where she had been employed for 40 years. Lois was a member of the Greenville Church of the Brethren, a former member of the Treaty City Quilters Club and a former member of the Alpha Delta Omega sorority. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Louella Snell and Effie Brooks. Lois is survived by Sisters Pauline R. Arnold of Greenville and Liz Rehfeld of Holly, Colorado, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens with Pastor Ron Sherck officiating. BAKER, KATHLEEN - Huber Heights  
HUBER HEIGHTS — Kathleen "Kathy" Baker, 60, of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully on Feb. 27, 2015, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on March 18, 1954, in Union City, Indiana, to Bill and Valerie (Bradfield) Baker. Kathy was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. She worked as a computer programmer most recently for CSC and previously for Delphi and Corning. Kathy enjoyed nature, being outdoors, and landscaping. She also enjoyed animals and pets, home renovation and collecting and visiting lighthouses. In addition to her parents, Kathy is also survived by her loving son, Jason (Heather) Reineke; brothers, Bill Baker, Jeff (Dana) Baker, Tim (Angie) Baker; one niece and several nephews, and many good friends. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-7 p.m. Friday at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Road, Beavercreek, Ohio. Additionally, a memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Wesley United Methodist Church, 515 W Oak St., Union City, Indiana. COX, JAMES - Rossburg  
ROSSBURG — James A. "Jim" Cox, 53, of Rossburg, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday afternoon, March 1, 201,5 at his residence. He was born April 23, 1961, in Union City, Indiana, son of the late Harry and Pearl (Lambert) Cox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Grace Lynne Thornhill; and his father-in-law, Robert Michael. Jim worked in the maintenance department at RAMCO Rotor since 2003. Prior to that, he had worked at the former Corning in Greenville in the batch house. He was also a farmer and loved spending time with his grandkids and attending their sporting events. He is survived by Sandra Thornhill and their daughter, Jamie M. Cox; stepchildren, Chad (Nicky) Thornhill, Shaun (Missy) Thornhill, Josh (Sara) Thornhill, and Georgette K. Thornhill; grandchildren, Tyler, Alia, Nathan, Madison, Tristan, JossLynne, and Colton Thornhill, Tiona and Dez Thompson; and his mother-in-law, Imogene Michael. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville. Burial will follow in the Lisbon Cemetery near Union City, Indiana. GREENVILLE — Edna Marie Engelken, 98, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2015, at 9:29 p.m. at Rest H­aven Nursing Home, Greenville, Ohio. She was born Jan. 10, 1917, in Darke County, Ohio the daughter of the late Frank and Matilda (Grote) Rismiller. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church; the Evangelical Lutheran Church Women; and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband: John E. Engelken on July 6, 1984, whom she married Sept. 20, 1946; her daughter: Teresa Staab; brother: Elva Rismiller; sisters: Norma Campbell, and Frieda Hartzell. She is survived by her daughter: Melissa Cremeans of Kettering; grandchildren: Lance Martin, Candy Sanders, Julie Freeman, and D.J. Staab; great-grandchildren: Chandler Martin, Gemma Martin, Kyle Hammons, Sebastian Hammons, Anthony Sanders, Lexi Sanders, Chase Amos, Arianna Sanders, Gabi Staab, and Colton Staab. Services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. John Lutheran Church, 7418 State Route 121, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Patti Morelock officiating. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. VERSAILLES — Paul Edward Fleenor, age 87, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Greenville. Paul was born June 24, 1927, in Bellbrook, Ohio, to the late Hammie and Eva (Gilliam) Fleenor. Paul was a dairy farmer, truck driver and equipment operator. Paul retired in 1989 after 10 years of service at the Versailles Feed Mill. Paul was an honorary member of the Darke County Horseshoe Club. Paul is survived by his children, Vickie Witt of Winchester, Indiana, Paula and Dan Varvel of Versailles, Ohio, Paul Fleenor Jr. of Versailles, Ohio, Sandy DeHart of Greenville, Ohio, Patsy Hart of North Carolina and Kelly and Kenny Hill of St. Marys, Ohio; 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; brothers, Charles Fleenor of Dayton, Ohio, and Marvin Fleenor of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Asenatha McConnaughey of Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Paul was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Belle (Steward) Fleenor on Feb. 25, 2014, whom he married Feb. 24, 1951; daughter-in-law, Cindra Fleenor; brother, Carson Fleenor; and sisters, Euna Wallace and Margaret Braun. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home in Versailles with Rev. John Butts officiating. Burial will follow at 1 p.m. in Bellbrook Cemetery in Bellbrook, Ohio. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. PLEASANT HILL — William B. "Bill" Frey, age 80, of Pleasant Hill, formerly of Covington, died Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Upper Valley Medical Center, Troy. Bill was born April 5, 1934, in Covington, Ohio, to the late Clarence and Gladys (Hacker) Frey; a graduate of Covington High School, Class of 1953; a U.S. Army Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict, achieving the rank of Command Sergeant Major; worked in Agribusiness in Versailles; a member of the VFW #6557, Pleasant Hill; Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Aerie #3998, Covington; and AMVETS Post #66, Covington; a member of the Covington High School Hall of Fame; loved woodworking; was a sports fanatic; and a huge fan of the Covington Buccaneers. Preceded in death by his parents; and five siblings. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Louise (Fair) Frey; three children, Kelly (Mike) Watercutter of Troy, Sherri Colby (Jim Higgins) of Troy, and Bill (Cami) Frey of Houston; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; brother, Richard (Patricia) McMaken of Covington; sister, Dixie Harnish of Covington; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Bridges-Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Covington, with Pastor Jerry Collins officiating. Interment Miami Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors. UNION CITY, Ohio — Donald A. Helm, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by family Tuesday March 3, 2015, at Wayne Healthcare Hospice Greenville, Ohio. Don was born Dec. 4, 1928, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late William Albert and Sarah Felicia (Zumbrum) Helm. He was a lifelong farmer, belonged to the Elks Lodge #1534, Mississinawa Valley Athletic Boosters and also was an avid sports fan. Survivors include: children, Scarlet Helm of Union City, Ohio, Tammy (Doug) Barger of Greenville, Ohio and Jay (Amy) Helm of Bradford, Ohio; grandchildren, Lorraine Miller, Amy Barger, Adam Barger and Lisa Barger; a great-grandchild, Lyla Deneski; a brother, James Helm of Grand Rapids, Michigan; nephews and cousins also survive. Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara Helm "2014," and an infant son Dennis Helm "1960." Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at the Reichard Funeral Home Inc., 400 W. DION HELMAN — Dion M. Helman, age 52, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at 3:20 a.m. at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio. He was born on Feb. 19, 1963, in Troy, Ohio, to Lysle (Cacilia) Helman Sr. of Greenville and Gloria Jean (Richard) Forsythe of Florida. Dion was a true family man. He particularly loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was an avid Harley Davidson rider and Bengals fan. He also loved spending time at Kozy Kamp Ground. Dion was a member of the Moose and Eagles Lodge in Greenville. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 31 years Julia (Trissell) Helman of Greenville; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Cassidy Helman of Greenville; grandchildren, Carter and Lillian Helman; brother, Lysle Helman Jr. of Ohio; sisters and brothers-in-law, Crystal and Keith Stinson of Georgia, Marty and Mike Kohlbaker of Missouri, and Michelle Ferguson of Ohio; sister-in-law, Lori Helman of Ohio; stepsisters, Barbara Meister, Ruth Leedom, Donna Sharp, Karen Price, Linda Owens and Nancy Welbaum; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. She was born on Feb. 16, 1921, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late August and Augusta (Hupe) Rismiller. Ilene is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Hemmerich, whom she married on Jan. 11, 1947; brothers, Albert, Earnest and Robert Rismiller; sisters, Esther Applegate, Sophia Ehlers, Clara Harter and Regina Applegate. Ilene was a homemaker and a member of St. John Lutheran Church and the Annie Oakley Camping Club. She loved and was active at the Brethren Retirement Communities activities including, Wii bowling, puzzles and bingo. She also helped with arranging the weekly menu's for the residence. There will be a service held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Todd Reish officiating. Burial will follow in the St. John Lutheran Church Cemetery, Greenville, Ohio. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. HILLIS, FRANCES - Tipp City  
TIPP CITY — Frances Josephine "Frannie" Hillis, age 89, passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at Springmeade Health Center. Mother was born on Oct. 11, 1925, eight miles west of Zanesville, Ohio, in the hamlet of White Cottage, Ohio, to Warren Stanley and Gracie Dell (Moyer) McLean. She was a graduate of Lash High School in Zanesville where she played the violin in the school orchestra. After moving to Arcanum, Ohio, she became an active member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher, pianist, and a choir member. She sang for many years with the Darke County Oratorio Society. After retiring in 1985 with 35 years of banking experience at Arcanum National Bank and Second National Bank, she became a volunteer at Wayne Hospital and the "Clothes Closet." She loved shopping with her best friend, Betty Murphy, and playing the piano with her great-grandchildren. Mother really liked her sports! Especially the Cincinnati Reds. There was a time when she could name every Reds player, their position and their batting average. She loved going to the games with her beloved sister, Marcie, with their Reds ball caps on and their matching red and white outfits! Preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and brothers-in-law Norma and Ralph Greiner and Marcella and Hugh (Tod) Dysinger of Zanesville. She leaves behind granddaughters, Lisa and Dewey Williams, Lori and David Sawka of Troy, and Leslie Hall of St. Paris, nine great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren who lovingly called her "Grandma Great." a sister Lois and Eugene Folden of White Cottage, six nieces and nephews of Columbus and Zanesville who called her Aunt Ty, and me, her daughter, Alinda (Lynn) and my husband Tom Force of Troy with so many fond, some funny and many many happy memories! Our family would like to thank the caring and dedicated staff at Springmeade Health Center, Tipp City, and Hospice of Miami County. Private funeral services will be conducted by her nephew, Dr. Eugene Folden of Columbus, at Jackson-Sarver Funeral Home, Pleasant Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one's choice.
