VERSAILLES - Anthony Paul "Tony" Monnin, 70, of Versailles, Ohio, passed away on April 7, 2013, at 1:05 a.m. at the Versailles Health Care Center.
He was born July 21, 1942, in Shelby County, Ohio, the son of the late Leroy and Bernice (Peltier) Monnin.
He served in the United States Army. He owned and operated Tony's Body Shop and Auto Parts for many years.
He was a former Wayne Township. Trustee; a life member of AMVETS Post 66; life member of Treaty City Motorcycle Club; member of the Versailles American Legion; member of Versailles Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Marlene Drees.
He is survived by his children and spouses: Lorrie and Philip Croswell of Gahanna, Ohio, David Monnin of Virginia Beach, Va., Daniel Monnin of Versailles, Debbie and Jim Francis of Versailles; grandchildren: Rachel, Sara, Katherine, Andrew Croswell, Kathryn Monnin, Lauren Monnin, Matthew, Danielle Francis; sister and brother-in-law: June and Dave Walters of Wapakoneta, Ohio; brothers and sisters-in-law: Wayne Monnin of Tipp City, Ohio, Leslie Remy Monnin of Versailles, Dale Monnin of Versailles, Don and Mary Monnin of Russia.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church, 14 E. Wood St., Versailles, Ohio, with Rev. Fr. David Vincent Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Valbert Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Bailey Zechar Funeral Home, Versailles, Ohio.
