Arlington E. "Doc" Sanders

ANSONIA - Arlington E. "Doc" Sanders, 77, of Ansonia, passed away early morning Jan. 12, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Dayton.

He was born May 5, 1935, in Mendon, Ohio, son of the late Alfred Sanders and Mabel (Joseph) Sanders-Bonifield. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Wayne Bonifield; brothers, Clayton, Keith and Melvin Sanders; sisters, Esther Stukenborg, Margaret Oldiges, and Rebecca McEldowney; and a half brother, Wayne Bonifield.

Arlington was retired from I.D.S. Farm Equipment (New Idea) in Coldwater having worked from 1951 to 1995. He was a veteran of the US Army.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy G. (Lyons) Sanders, whom he married May 12, 1962; his children, Todd (Bobbie McGlinch) Sanders of Celina, Randall (Pam) Sanders of Ft. Recovery, and Charlene (Robert) Hartzell of Greenville; grandchildren, Audrey, Kristina, Kevin, Kathleen, Kolin, Bryan, and Hailey; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Rozlynn, Gavin, Isabelle, Leanna, Grayson, Brett, Kayden, Walker, and one to be born soon; sisters, Marcella Bonifield of Salamonia, Ind., Ruby Singer of New Weston; brother, Roger Sanders of Ansonia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m., Friday at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to the American Diabetes Association. Condolences may be left for the family at www.oliverfloyd.com.
