ENGLEWOOD - Louis M. Stephens, 92, of Englewood, died at early morning March 31, 2013, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Mr. Stephens was born in Palestine, Ohio, on Jan. 10, 1921, the son of the late Thurl and Blanche (Manuel) Stephens.
He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church, Englewood. Louie was a veteran of the Army Air Corps World War II, where he was a B 24 Pilot, and a German POW, receiving a Purple Heart. He was a member of the 8th Air Force Memorial Association.
Mr. Stephens was a retired employee of DESC at Wright Patterson working in information technology and logistics.
He was preceded in death by his son, R. Terry Stephens, sister Kathryn Jane Mote, half-brother Charles Stephens, half-sister Cordelia Stephens.
Louie is survived by his wife, Deloris (Kress) Stephens, whom he married Nov. 28, 1946; son Larry L. Stephens and wife Linda of Grosse Point, Mich., grandchildren, R. Matthew (Erma) Stephens, Theodore L. (Anne) Stephens, Ryan Louis Stephens; great-grandchildren Jacob W. Stephens, Sydney Marie Stephens, and Jacqueline Stephens, sister Margaret A. Ferguson of Dayton; and half-brother Fred (Carol) Stephens of Sidney.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Friday at Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum, with Rev John Wiltshire officiating. Burial will follow in Mote Cemetery Pitsburg with the Greenville Honor Guard conducting military services.
