Norman C. Rhotehamel

UNION CITY - Norman C. Rhotehamel, 82, received his wings Sept. 29, 2913, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born Aug. 9, 1931, in Greenville, the son of the late Loyal Glen and Bertha C. (Petering) Rhotehamel. Also preceding him in death were a sister, Hazel Driscoll; brother Bernard Rhotehamel; and an infant sister, Mary Francis Rhotehamel.

Norman serve din the U.S. Marines in the Coral Seas. Norman was a Union City police officer, Randolph County Sheriff's Department, Sheller-Globe employee, farmer, and retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 37 years as a rural carrier. Norman enjoyed hunting for arrowheads and Indian relics, NASCAR and member of NRA.

Survivors are his daughters, Susan (Greg) Hufford of Union City, Ind.; son, Brian L. (Kim) Rhotehamel of Winchester, Ind.; three grandchildren, Lauren and Garrett Rhotehamel and Rob Hufford; three sisters, Florence (Jack) Wright and Ethel (Frank) Lenker, both of Greenville, and Velma (Dave) Campbell of Ansonia; sister-in-law, Maxine Rhotehamel; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Reichard Funeral Home, 400 W. Deerfield Road, Union City, Ind. Burial will be in Greenville Cemetery, with military rites by Randolph County Color Guard.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice or PAWS with envelopes available at the funeral home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.reichardfh.com
