Russel H. Harpest

GREENVILLE - Russel H. Harpest, 94, of Greenville, passed away early morning March 30, 2013, at Oakley House in Greenville, Ohio.

He was born Oct. 23, 1918, in Darke County, son of the late Clarence and Vera (Hern) Harpest. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha B (Beery) Harpest on April 5, 2004; a grandson, Ted Harpest; a brother, Harold Harpest; and sisters, Melba Rice and Ruth Schlechty.

Russel was a retired tool and die maker having worked for Detroit Tap and Tool. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Greenville.

He is survived by his children, Gloria Harpest of Greenville, Fred (Sharon) Harpest of Greenville, and Rosalie (Tom) Wade of Stuart, Fla.; grandchildren, Lyndie (Nathan) Sabin, Karie Harpest, Kaci Harpest, Nicole Meisner, Nathan Meisner, Philip Meisner, and Holden Meisner; great-grandchildren, Austin, Adrienne, and Abrielle Sabin; a brother, Lloyd Harpest; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday at the Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Bill Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Township Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be given to Faith Baptist Church. Condolences may be left for the family at
