NEW MADISON - Susan Midlam, 59, of New Madison, passed away on July 5, 2013, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
Susan was born on May 13, 1954, in Dayton, Ohio, to the late Ralph and Edna (Saylor) Midlam.
Susan was a 1972 graduate of New Madison High School, a graduate of Ohio Northern University, and a 1983 graduate of Wright State University where she received her master's in education. She enjoyed reading and listening to Christian and classical music. Susan loved children and enjoyed working at Woodland Alters summer camps when she was younger. She had attended church at Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren since 1959 and was baptized into the church April 16, 1966. Susan was also involved in the Emmaus Community. She worked as a third-grade math teacher at Tri Village Schools from August 1978 through present.
In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by a brother, John Midlam.
Susan is survived by her niece, Amy Midlam of Vandalia; great-nieces, Ashlyn Marburger, Shelby Marburger and Kristen Marburger, and a great-great-nephew, Colin Marburger.
A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Cedar Grove Church of the Brethren with Rev. Tony Price officiating. Friends may call at the church from 9 to 11 a.m. before the service on Thursday.
