GREENVILLE - Thomas M. Ester, 56, of Greenville, died at 4:40 a.m. Oct. 23, 2012, at his residence.
He was born March 25, 1956, in Piqua to the late Rufus Ester and Fannie Mae Ward.
He married Sharon K. Hurd Aug. 24, 2002, in Piqua; and she survives. Other survivors include a son, Joshua Gilmore of Greenville; a daughter Fanta Gilmore of Greenville; four grandchildren; a bother Michael (Wanda) Ester of Arkansas; and four sisters, Maple Thomas of Oklahoma, Mary C. Dailey of Georgia, Jeannette Swift of Arkansas, Chanda Pearil of Piqua; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Rufus Ray Ester, Jerry Coulter, and a sister Juanita Basil.
Mr. Ester was a graduate of Piqua Central High School and retired in April as a work specialist from Wayne Industries of Greenville following 31 years of employment. He was active with the Union Masonic Lodge # 18 of Troy, Mount Horeb #32 of Springfield, Harmony Chapter #26 of Troy and the Miami Consistory # 26 of Dayton. In addition, he enjoyed being a referee for high school basketball games. He will be sadly missed by his loving family and many friends.
A service to honor his life will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the Jamieson & Yannucci Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Murray officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where a Masonic Lodge service will be conducted at 6:45 p.m. Condolences to the family may also be expressed through jamiesonandyannucci.com.
