GREENVILLE - H. Gene Dispennette, age 69, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on July 21, 2014, at State of the Heart Hospice Care Center, Greenville, Ohio surrounded by his family.
He was born Aug. 4, 1944, in Darke County, Ohio, the son of the late Dale "Red" and Abby N. (Harris) Dispennette. He retired from Fram for 23 years. He served in the United States Army.
He was a member of the Greenville Eagles, V.F.W., American Legion, and Greenville Moose Lodge. He enjoyed Camping at Cozy Campgrounds and he loved boating.
He is preceded in death by his parents; great-grandson: Jacob Magoto; brothers: John and Jim Dispennette; sisters: Judy Peek and Mary Jane Bard.
He is survived by his wife: Glenna (Perkins) Dispennette of Greenville, whom he married July 27, 1976; son: Keith Dispennette of Greenville; daughter and son-in-law: Rhonda and Mike Magoto of Greenville; grandchildren and spouses: Jessica and Josh Addis, Sean Henninger and fiancée Kayla, Trey Koons, Justin, Taylor, Tabitha Dispennette, Jamie and Amanda Magoto; great-grandchildren: Coltin, Cadyin, Camdyn, Paige, Tyler, Cory, and Aubrey; brother and sister-in-law: Joe and Roseann Dispennette of Port Orange, Fla.; sisters and brothers-in-law: Jerri Dispennette of Greenville, Jan Cook of New Paris, Ohio, Joni and Steve Burelison of Bradford, Jovette and Brian Meyers of New Paris, Ohio; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio, with Pastor Hershel Fee officiating. Burial will follow in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, Ohio. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday and one-half hour prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home. Full military honors will be conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.
