PAUL WYSONG Jr.

NEW MADISON - Paul "Butch" D. Wysong, Jr., 66, of New Madison, died Jan. 10, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.

Mr. Wysong was born in Greenville on Sept. 6, 1947, the son of the late Raymond "Shorty" Wead and Phyllis (Campbell) Wysong Wead.

He was a member of the Richmond First Assembly of God. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War. Butch was a former police officer in Celina and Arcanum and former chief of police in New Madison.

Mr. Wysong was preceded in death by a granddaughter Jaden Jarrett.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte (King) Wysong, whom he married March 21, 1975; daughters Angie Martin Wysong of Greenville, Starletta (Bobby) Wilson of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., and Nicole (Trent) Jarrett-Claybaker of Arcanum; son Paul (Chelsea) D. Wysong III of New Madison; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister Darla Bourne of Arcanum; brothers David Wysong of Eaton, Kenneth (Yolanda) Wysong of San Diego, Gary Wysong of Houston, Texas, and Eddie (Ronda) Wead of Pitsburg.

Funeral services will be held 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum, with Rev Carlos King officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Final services will be held 11 a.m. March 21, 2014, in Abbottsville Cemetery.
