WILLIAM KINNISON

SEBASTIAN, Fla. - William "Bill" Leonard Kinnison, 92, of Sebastian, Fla., died Nov. 23, 2013.

He was born in Winslow Ark. on Nov. 15, 1921, to the late Lewis and Mary Ola (Smart) Kinnison. He is also preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Edith (Lewis) Kinnison; brothers, Ralph, John, Joyce, Herman Kinnison; sister Dorothy Hankins.

He is survived by daughters, Judy Houle of Northborough, Mass., Kelley Kinnison of Sebastian; a grandson, Jared Smith of Sebastian; two sisters, Kathleen Gunckle of Greenville, Patsy (Galen) Riley of Gettysburg; and sister-in-law, Vivian Kinnison of Greenville.

He graduated from Franklin Monroe School in 1939. He joined the Marines and was in World War II, serving in the South Pacific and Pearl Harbor. After coming home, he moved to Vero Beach in 1961. He was a member of the Marine Night Fighters Association, VFW Sebastian Post 10210 and a 50-year member of the Gettysburg Lodge 477.

Services will be held Monday at Aycock Funeral Home & Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Fort Pierce, Fla. Nephew Jimmy Kinnison will officiate.
