CARTHAGE, Ill. - Belva Jean Roessner-Sandy, age 74, or Carthage, Ill., formerly of Montezuma, Ohio, died on Jan. 19, 2013, at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill.
She was born Sept. 17, 1938, in Piqua, Ohio, to the late Casper Dee and Viola (Copher) Herron. On May 10, 1958, she married Bruno Roessner and he died Feb. 9, 1993, then on Jan. 13, 2006, she married John Sandy and he survives in Carthage, Ill.
She is also survived by 10 children, Bonita Swallow of Versailles, Bernard and Kathy Roessner of New Knoxville, Bruce and Darlene Roessner of St. Henry, Bennett and Kim Roessner of Bowling Green, Bryan and Melissa Roessner of Greenville, Brenda and Lloyd Jr. Klett of Lima, Brice Roessner and Kay Knoop of Greenville, Brad and Deb Roessner of Portland, Ind., Brent Roessner and Jackie Mescher of Sidney and Bernice Brogaard and Fernando Moreno of Coldwater; three stepchildren, Luana and Dwayne Graber of Breese, Ill., Liana and Jason Fink of Quincy, Ill. and Christine and Billy Smith of Carthage, Ill.; 33 grandchildren and stepgrandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; siblings Tarryl and Terry Herron of Covington, Nancy Smith of Kentucky, Dewey Herron of Piqua, Ted and Lucinda Herron of Piqua, Sue Wright of Covington and Dusty and Chartlotte Herron of Covington; a sister-in-law, Ginny Herron of Anna,
She was preceded in death by three brothers Marvin, Donald and Mike and a brother-in-law Gary Wright.
She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, Montezuma, Ohio.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Guadalupe Cemetery.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home,Coldwater. Contributions may be made to the American Caner Association. Condolences may be left at hogenkampfh.com.
