BRADFORD - Dessie Mae Holsopple, 87, of Bradford, died March 11, 2014, at her residence.

She was formerly from Arcanum, moving to Arizona, and returning to Darke County in 2008. Mrs. Holsopple was born near Berea, Ky., on April 29, 1926, the daughter of the late Joseph and Dovie (Laws) Brockman.

She was retired caregiver in Arizona for 30 years.

Mrs. Holsopple was preceded in death by her husbands, Claude Haines and Russell D. Holsopple, daughter Ernestine Anderson, sons Claude "Bud" Haines and Darrol Holsopple, sister Ressie Griffith, brothers Irvin and John Brockman.

Dessie is survived by her daughter, Denita (Curtis) Woods of South Carolina; grandchildren, Gail (Tom) Fourman of Greenville, Terry (Theresa) Haines of Versailles, Sherry (Larry) Hughes of Sidney, Eddie Haines of Dayton, Claude "Bud" (Michele) Haines of Gettysburg, Becky (Bill) Wyan of Bradford, Jeff Woods of South Carolina, Debra Ray of North Carolina, Donna Anderson of New Hampshire, and Parrish Partin of New Hampshire; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. on Friday at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum, with Pastor Joe Brockman officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions to Hospice of Miami County, Inc., Box 502 Troy, Ohio 45373.
