GREENVILLE - Elvin K. Hollinger, age 93, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away at 3 p.m. Jan. 14, 2013, at Versailles Health Care Center.
Elvin was born Dec. 6, 1919, in Darke County, Ohio, to the late Noah F. and Mary (Holsinger) Hollinger.
Elvin is survived by a daughter, Linda Deeter of Versailles; son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Shirley Hollinger of Greenville; son-in-law, Franklin Gantt of Arcanum; stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Michael and Mary Dohme of Greenville, Mark and Dawn Dohme of Greenville and Jeffrey and Tonya Dohme of Greenville; stepdaughter, Joy Thompson of Troy; grandchildren, Karen and Joel Avore, Cheryl Hollinger, Doug and Kristy Gantt, Brian and Cassie Gantt and Todd and Julie Deeter; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gene and Janice Oliver of Versailles; and numerous great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Elvin is also preceded in death by his first wife, Violet L. (Hendrickson) Hollinger on Aug. 5, 1994, whom he married March 22, 1941; second wife, Virginia M. (Dohme) Hollinger on Sept. 22, 2012; daughter, Gloria Gantt; son-in-law, Billy L. Deeter; and a sister, Goldie Hall.
Elvin was a retired farmer and also formerly worked for Keller Grain & Feed in Horatio. Elvin was a member of Trinity Wesleyan Church in Greenville.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home in Greenville with Pastor Bob Boyd officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery in Darke County.
