GREENVILLE - Isabelle Ruth Hollinger, 95, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away on Oct. 14, 2013 at Brethren Retirement Community.
Isabelle was born on, May 31, 1918 to the late George and Linnie (Bennett) Chamberlain. In addition to her parents, Isabelle is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Hollinger, whom she was married to for 65 years; a granddaughter, Deborah Lynn Hollinger; and two brothers, Donald and Roland Chamberlain.
Isabelle was a homemaker during her life. She was a 1936 graduate of New Madison School, a member of the Harmony Makers, an advisor in 4-H and a talented seamstress making clothes for her children. She also helped with the family business, Hollinger Sand and Gravel. Isabelle was a member of Beech Grove Church of the Brethren.
Isabelle is survived by a son, Tom and his wife, Sharon Hollinger; a daughter, Carol Sue and her husband, Ronald Elkins; four grandchildren: Sandra Shaffer, Kendall and wife, Kari Elkins, Stephanie and husband Jeff Allread, and Doug and wife Amy Hollinger; nine great-grandchildren, Kayla and Braden Shaffer, Caleb, Leah, and Kenton Allread, Evan and Owen Elkins, and Riley and Kara Hollinger; a sister-in-law, Constance Chamberlain and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Braund Pope Funeral Home in New Madison with Rev. Gary Cloyd officiating. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 9 to 11 a.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenmound Cemetery.
