GREENVILLE - Jack Deaton, 89, of Greenville, Ohio, passed away Sept. 17, 2013, at Heartland of Greenville.
He was born Jan. 9, 1924, in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late Jeff and Nellie Deaton.
Jack was a self-employed carpenter and farmer. He loved fishing and the outdoors. He was a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses.
He is survived by his wife, of 68 years, Gladys Deaton of Greenville; children, Karen (Neil) Skiver, and Kathy (Gene Robbins) Fisher, all of Greenville; four grandchildren, Kelly (Phil Booker) Thwaits, Teresa (Walt) Taylor, Ranee (Niles) Richards and Rodney (Abbey) Fisher, all of Greenville; eight great-grandchildren, Kohl, Krue, Kayge, Keris, Teha, Torie, Grant, and Haylee.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Oliver-Floyd Funeral Home in Greenville, Ohio, with Pete Green officiating. Burial will following in Greenville Union Cemetery.
