ARCANUM — Karl Kent Coppock, age 69, of Arcanum, passed away at 8:24 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018 at the State of the Heart Hospice Care Center in Greenville. Kent was born October 30, 1948 in Greenville, son of the late J.C. and Cristal (Wion) Coppock.
Kent retired in 2015 from the Wayne Division of Smith Dairy in Richmond, Indiana, and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from December 1966 until December 1969 in the U.S. Army. Kent enjoyed spending time with his family.
In addition to his parents, Kent was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Shank. He is survived by his wife, Karen S. (Hetzler) Coppock, of Arcanum (They were married December 8, 1968); as well as daughters: Michelle (Bryce) Shaffer of Kewanna, Indiana; Jaclyn Bailey and fiancé Stacy Phillips, of Connersville, Indiana; and Christina (Eric) Hester of Greenville; grandchildren: Malici Shaffer, Kent Shaffer, Hunter Shaffer, Deirdre Bailey, Charlie Bailey, Shalya Phillips, Jacob Cain, Levi Cain, Carolynn Bruce, Christopher Hester and Charles Hester; great-grandchildren: Rozalin Lewis, Boston Bruce, Paisley Bruce and Theo Bruce; a brother, Wayne (Mary) Coppock, of Greenville; sister, Melinda Shahan of Brighton, Michigan' as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, at the Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio. Burial will follow in the Abbottsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until time of services. The Greenville Veteran's Honor Guard will conduct Military Honors at the Abbottsville Cemetery.
