DAYTON - Kent Hawkey from Dayton, age 71, son of the late Lewis and Ethel (Weaver) Hawkey, passed away June 22, 2013 after a short battle with cancer.

Kent was a retired 30-year employee of General Motors and enjoyed collecting trains.

Survivors include his wife Debra of 35 years; daughters and their spouses: Barbara (Jeff) Pequignot, Lisa Wilson of Greenville and step daughter Anissa (Kevin) Dowling of Cincinnati; grandchildren: Emily, Jake and Amy Pequignot, Eric (Christy) Garland, Felicia, Melanie, Curtis and Michelle Wilson, Ashlyn, Jack and Sean Dowling; a sister, Shirley (Hollie) Hawkey of New Paris; brothers and their spouses: Roderick (Ruth) Mabry of Byrdstown, Tenn. and Douglas (Glenna) Mabry of Camden, Ohio; special cousins: Barry Martindale, Brenda Jeffers and Connie Pence and great-grandchildren: Mylah and Laynah Garland.

Visitation will be at Schlientz and Moore Funeral Home in Centerville today from 4 to 7 p.m. with a memorial service from 7 to 8 p.m. Private burial services will be at the convenience of the family.
