Pascal Smith, 93, a resident of Rest Haven Nursing Home since 2009, passed away on Oct. 17, 2012 at 3:15 a.m. at Rest Haven.
He was born Dec. 3, 1918 in Pineville, Ky., the son of the late Luther and Laura (Sizemore) Smith.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marie Smith; son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Sharon Smith; daughter and son-in-law, Doris and Larry Crumrine; and numerous brothers and sisters.
He retired from Conrail Railroad and also worked as a coal miner in Harlan, Ky.
He is survived by his grandchildren, Larry Crumrine Jr. and Lisa J. Crumrine of Greenville, Caron of Florida and Laura; special friend, Gloria Hodge; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. at Zechar Bailey Funeral Home, Greenville, Ohio with the Rev. Lowell Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to State of the Heart Hospice.
