Patty Louise "Pat" Williams, age 84, of Greenville and formerly of Troy, passed away at 12:46 a.m. Sept. 16, 2012, at the Brethren Home in Greenville.
Pat was born Nov. 24, 1927, in Arcanum to the late Robert H. and Treva (Schaar) Snyder.
On Aug. 15, 1957, she married Maurice Williams, who survives. Pat is also survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Jill and James Stevenson of Troy; two brothers and sister-in-law, Donald (Pat) Snyder of Sidney and Doug Snyder of Piqua; sister and brother-in-law, Alice (Charles) Hiser of Ludlow Falls; one sister-in-law, Delores Snyder of Versailles; and brother-in-law, Tom Bard of Tucson, Ariz.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her first husband, Dennis McNelly; a son, Jeffrey McNelly; a brother Fred Snyder; three sisters and brother-in-law Betty (Tom) Phillips, Grace Bard, and Myra Sue Snyder; and sister-in-law Marge Snyder.
Pat was a 1945 graduate of Arcanum High School and retired from Milton Union Schools after 23 years as cafeteria manager. She was a Blue Bird Girl Scout Leader, a Cub Scout leader, a swimming instructor for the Red Cross for five years. She was an avid fisherman and Cincinnati Reds fan who loved gardening.
Pat was a charter member of the Order of Eastern Star #132 in West Milton and a member of the Troy Church of the Brethren where she taught Sunday school.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, 1124 W. Main St. in Troy, with the Rev. Sheila Shumaker officiating.
Visitation will be at 10 to 11 a.m., preceding the service on Wednesday. Interment will follow in Miami Memorial Park in Covington. Contributions may be made to State of the Heart Hospice, 1350 N.
