Violet C. Cochran, 84, of Pitsburg, died Aug. 3, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Dayton.

Mrs. Cochran was born in Monogah, W.Va., on March 2, 1928, the daughter of the late Ora May (Nester) Calvert.
She was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church. Greenville. She was an employee of the Fram Corporation, Greenville, retiring in 1991. Violet volunteered at the county court house and was a volunteer reading tutor. She love flower gardening and crocheting afghans.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Cochran, who died Aug. 9, 1980, daughter Michelle Netzley, two brothers George and Carl Calvert, two sisters Helen Dunn and Lucille McNutt.
Mrs. Cochran is survived by daughters Sharon (Jeff) Condy of Greenville, Linda (Phil) Mong of Piqua, Ginger (Ron) Gilbert of Greenville, and Lori Cochran of Pitsburg; grandchildren Ron (Alesia) Condy, Brian (Peggy) Condy, David Mong, Jennifer (Chad) Nolen, Lisa-Marie Mong, Chris (Tara) Gilbert, Amber (David) Swaney, Donnie (Jennifer) Netzley, and Ben Netzley; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters Norma (Bud) Penny of Ft. Jefferson and Doris Starnes of New Madison; and brother Larry (Kathy) Calvert of Eaton.
Private family graveside services will be held in Greenville Township Memorial Gardens, Greenville, with the Rev Aaron Gerlach officiating. Condolences may be sent to KreitzerFuneralHomeInc.com.
