GREENVILLE - Maurice E. "Mo" Williams, 87, of Greenville and formerly of Troy, passed away 8:40 p.m. March 22, 2014, at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton.
He was born in Arcanum on Dec. 3, 1926, to the late Ward A. and Hattie A. (Nyswonger) Williams. He was married to Patty Louise (Snyder) McNelly on Aug. 15, 1957, and she preceded him in death on Sept. 16, 2012.
Maurice is survived by his stepdaughter and her husband, Jill and James Stevenson of Troy. He was also preceded in death by his stepson, Jeffrey McNelly; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Roland and Dorothy Williams, Byron and Dorothy Williams, and Paul and Donna Williams.
Maurice was a member of the Church of the Brethren in Troy. He was a 1945 graduate of Arcanum High School School. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He was a member of West Milton Lodge #577 F&AM where he was past master in 1966 and O.E.S. Chapter #132, West Milton. He worked at the Chrysler Corporation, Dayton, as an engineer and later he retired from Omega Automation, Dayton. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Cincinnati Reds.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at Fisher-Cheney Funeral Home, Troy. Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service. Interment will be in Miami Memorial Park, Covington, with military graveside service preformed by the Veterans Memorial Honor Guard, Troy.
