GREENVILLE - Douglas K. Bridenbaugh Sr., 69, of Greenville, died July 9, 2014, at home.

Mr. Bridenbaugh was born in Greenville on April 22, 1945, the son of the late Esta and Reva (Welbaum) Bridenbaugh. He attended Ft. Jefferson United Methodist Church. Doug was a former member and assistant chief of the Pitsburg Fire Department.

He served in the U.S. Marines Corps during the Vietnam War and was a member of the Arcanum VFW.

Mr. Bridenbaugh was preceded in death by his son, Douglas K. Bridenbaugh Jr., grandson Stephen Gilbert, sister Kathy Bridenbaugh, and brother Gene Bridenbaugh.

He is survived by his wife, Emogene "Dee" (Barclay) Bridenbaugh, whom he married July 9, 1966; daughters Julia (David) Davis of Arcanum and Melissa (Phil) Murphy of Centerville, Ind.; grandchildren Elizabeth (Christopher) Clark, Alexander and Tristan Neal, Megan, Melony, and Gabrielle Brown, Donald "Douglas" Gilbert, Shaina Gilbert and Aaron Gilbert; great-grandchildren Hailie Jude Gilbert and Elissa Gilbert; brother Ronnie (Donna) Bridenbaugh of Pitsburg and sister-in-law Sandra Bridenbaugh of Laura.

Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Monday in Mote Cemetery, Pitsburg, with Pastor Doug Baker officiating and military services conducted by the Greenville Veterans Honor Guard.. The family will receive relatives and friends Sunday 2 - 4 p.m. at Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum. Condolences may be sent to
