NORTH STAR - Lowell E. Liette, age 80, of North Star, Ohio, died on Dec. 10, 2012, at Wayne Hospital, Greenville, Ohio.

He was born May 12, 1932, in New Weston, Ohio, to the late Raymond E. and Elizabeth (Couchot) Liette.

On Feb. 9, 1952, he married Madonna (Didier) in St. Louis Church, North Star, Ohio, and she survives in North Star. Lowell is survived by three children, Linda and Mike Kuether of Osgood, Pamela and Tom Broerman of Minster and Steven and Sheila Liette of Versailles; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three siblings, Ralph and Ella Mae Liette of Chickasaw, Connie and Urban Winner of Osgood, Judy and John Knight of Springfield, Va.; in-laws Bob and Edna Stout of St. Henry, Naomi Phlipot of Versailles and Lewis and Wilma Didier of Frenchtown.

He is preceded in death by sisters Ruth Hiestand, Helen Stout, Dolores Bryd, Norma Rammel and Susie Gilliland; in-laws Art Rammel, Charlie Gilliland, Charles (Ets) Hiestand, John Bryd, Virgil and Beulah Didier, Jerome Phlipot and Delores Ellen Didier.

He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, Men's Society of the church, a former North Star Little League coach and town council member and he was veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War and a member of the North Star American Legion.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday at St. Louis Catholic Church, North Star, with Fr. David Zink, officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in St. Louis Cemetery, North Star.

Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Hogenkamp Funeral Home-St. Henry and on Friday from 9 to 10 St. Louis Church, North Star. Condolences may be left at
