ARCANUM - Byron J "Bake" Baker, 85, of Arcanum passed away early the morning of Sept. 16, 2013, at Heartland of Greenville.
Mr. Baker was born in Arcanum on June 23, 1928, the son of the late Ernest and Amanda (Niebert) Baker.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Arcanum, a member of the Greenville Moose and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bake was an avid card player and bowler, past president of the Arcanum Bowling League and a member of KeenAgers. He was a lithographer at Reynolds and Reynolds in Dayton retiring after 44 years.
Mr. Baker was preceded in death by two brothers Herman and Nolan Baker.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Dull) Baker, whom he married Feb. 18, 1950; two daughters, Vickie McClary and husband John of Springboro and Dixie Baker of Chicago; son Rick Baker of Greenville; grandchildren Brad (Janet) Eib, Kathy McClary (Lee) Brumbaugh, Travis Baker, Amy McClary (Bryan) Strasser, Heather Baker and fiancé Jeff Gage; great-grandchildren Morgan and Brooke Eib, Dustin McClary, Katie Ashworth, Dominick Baker, Kolten and Kain Gage; sister Mary Davis of Greenville.
Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Kreitzer Funeral Home, Arcanum, with Rev John Wiltshire officiating. Burial will follow in Abbottsville Cemetery.
